One of the most challenging aspects of teamwork is getting everyone on the team focused on the same goal. I’ve been on many teams where we couldn’t even agree about what the purpose of the team was. Great leaders have a clear mission, and inspire people to join in that mission. Great quote. Thanks.
Thanks Steve. Pat Lencioni’s book about Silos, Politics, and Turf Wars is a good read on the topic you bring up. The white paper by Dr. Tim Elmore from my article, Leadership: “Gardeners” Needed, speaks to the leadership style of the Poet/Gardner — one who casts vision and grows employees.
Check them both out. -eb
Thanks for the tip. I’ll have to check out Elmore’s book. Lencioni I’m already familiar with — one of my favorites.
